It is a valid point after all.
To everyone who hates being asked why characters in anime have large eyes or heads, or why they always call out their attacks or use so many speed lines.
Simply rebut with this gem. Why DO they only have four fingers most of the time? It doesn't make any sense, not even with animals.
And for the record, I love both anime and western cartoons. Both have certain styles and things that make them interesting, and of course, each one has some that are better than others.
EDIT: Okay people, I get why it occurs. It's just a rebuttal to when people are jerks about something I like.

I often draw cartoon characters in 4 fingers even if they have 5 fingers except like the part when the character is 2,3 or 6 fingered hands (including anime as well).
